Welcome to Ethio-Can BridgeTheGap.

Ethio-Can BridgeTheGap is a grassroots mental health initiative with a goal to bridge the gap on the availability of culturally anchored and trauma informed mental health resources for individuals and families in the Ethiopian and Eritrean Canadian communities.

We endeavour to create a community support system where we can begin our collective healing journey together, foster a sense of belonging and ultimately build a resilient community legacy for our future generations.

Through My Eyes

SIGN UP TODAY!

"Through My Eyes" is an archival photography initiative aiming to capture and preserve the stories and experiences of emigration during the Ethiopian Red Terror. Led by Yeabsra Agonfer and Fiqir Worku, this project is deeply rooted in their parents' personal accounts from that traumatic period. In partnership with EthioCan Bridge The Gap, the project's ultimate mission is to establish a safe and nurturing environment for community healing. It seeks to address the profound trauma inflicted by this tragic chapter in Ethiopian history while highlighting the resilience of our community.

For further details or if you or someone you know is interested in participating, please contact us at throughmyeyesethiopia@gmail.com.
